On 23–24 May 2026, a two-day seminar was held within the framework of the Council of Europe programme “Strengthening Human Social Rights in Armenia,” dedicated to strengthening the role of trade unions in the collective complaints procedure, as well as promoting occupational safety and health standards.
The seminar was organized in cooperation between the Council of Europe and the Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia, with the aim of strengthening trade unions’ capacities in applying international mechanisms for the protection of social rights, effectively using collective complaints procedures, and promoting a culture of occupational safety and health in the workplace.
During the seminar, speakers presented the collective complaints system operating within the framework of the European Social Charter, its importance in protecting workers’ rights, as well as international standards and best practices in the field of occupational safety and health. Discussions also focused on the challenges faced in Armenia, the role of trade unions in addressing these challenges, and opportunities for the development of social dialogue.
Participants had the opportunity not only to familiarize themselves with the theoretical and legal frameworks, but also to engage in practical discussions, exchange experiences, and participate in group work, which contributed to strengthening professional capacities and fostering further cooperation.
The seminar served as an important platform for trade union representatives to discuss effective tools for the protection of social rights and to identify directions for future joint actions.
