The Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia has proposed that the overlap of public holidays with weekends should not deprive workers of their rest days

A proposal has been submitted to the Standing Committee on Labor and Social Affairs of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, suggesting that if a weekend coincides with a public holiday or memorial day, the weekend day should be moved to the next working day.
The purpose of the initiative is to ensure that workers can fully enjoy their rest days and to prevent situations where overlapping holidays reduce the number of weekends available.
The Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia highlights that such a change would help promote social justice in the workplace and strengthen the protection of workers’ rights.
