“How to combine family and career”, “How to protect yourself from manifestations of discrimination”, “Challenges and problems of rural and urban women”, “Cultural characteristics, stereotypes and education” – such issues were discussed on January 26, 2023 at a meeting organized in Yerevan by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on the theme “Strengthening of Women's Economic Empowerment”. The meeting was attended by Teresa Albano, OSCE Economic Officer, Stefano Volpicelli, OSCE expert-consultant, social partners, representatives of non-governmental organizations. The Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia at the event was represented by the Deputy Chairman of the CTUA Tiruhi Nazaretyan and the Head of the Department for the Protection of Labor and Social Rights of the CTUA Laura Demirchyan. The Vice-Chairman of the CTUA in her speech pointed out the need for women to be aware of labor rights and have a high level of education, which will allow them to be more competitive and secured in the labor market and become financially independent. Trade unions, within their powers, will continue to carry out activities aimed at reducing wage inequality and other manifestations of discrimination.
