On March 18, at the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, a working meeting was held between the members of the UN Working Group on discrimination against women and girls, who were in Armenia on a monitoring visit, and the representatives of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia and the Republican Union of Employers of Armenia.
During the meeting, further actions, problems and strategies related to the ratification of ILO Convention No. 190 were discussed.
Tiruhi Nazaretyan, Deputy President of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia, presented the work carried out by the trade unions toward the ratification of the Convention, as well as the existing legislative gaps, issues, and obstacles.
The participants of the meeting stated that cooperation and joining efforts are necessary for the full implementation of the Convention and for ensuring a stable and safe working environment free from discrimination and harassment.
